What do you know, May rolled around and our weather finally decided to act like it was Spring. We took it as a good sign to spend the entire weekend in the garden. We've made a good amount of progress over the last year, but we still have a couple of trouble spots that we just don't know how to proceed with…enter the possibility of the potting bench. An excellent filler in a hard to navigate space.

In our backyard we have a little spot at the base of the porch stairs were plantings just don't make sense, but the space needs to be filled to distract from the exposed house foundation. I'd love to take a little from each of these images to create our own version of the perfect potting bench. My one concern is the lack of coverage in this awkward little spot - I'm not sure if it makes a difference - being exposed to the elements. Thoughts?
